Santa Maria Crash at Alvin Ave. and Blosser Road Kills Two Children
SANTA MARIA, CA (November 8, 2022) – On Sunday night in Santa Maria, a crash involving a driver suspected of DUI killed two children. The November 6 crash occurred where Blosser Road and Alvin Avenue intersect.
The time was roughly 8:00 p.m., Santa Maria Police said.
According to authorities, a driver suspected of DUI hit a vehicle in which five family members were traveling.
Two children who had been traveling in the vehicle that was struck suffered injuries that were fatal. The two children were thrown from the vehicle from the force of the crash.
The children were identified only as 2 years old and 10 years old.
Reports do not state the current condition of the parents, nor of a third child who had been traveling in the vehicle that was struck.
The family has not been identified in reports.
Authorities identified the suspect driver as Hector Romero Escobar, a resident of Santa Maria, 30 years old.
He was arrested on suspicion of felony driving under the influence, non-negligent manslaughter, and murder.
