SAN DIEGO, CA (November 21, 2022) – Late at night on Saturday in San Diego, a pedestrian was struck and injured by a hit-and-run driver in the Southcrest area.

The November 19 crash occurred on Rigel Street.

The time was roughly a little before 11:30 p.m., Robert Heims said. Heims is an officer with San Diego Police.

Authorities allege the pedestrian walked in front of an eastbound vehicle. The vehicle–which has not been described–struck the woman.

The driver did not stop to help the victim, but fled the crash site.

Responders transported the patient to a hospital in the area. She suffered injuries that include a broken pelvis, reports say.

She was identified only as 37 years old. Her name and city of residence have not been reported.

Investigators are searching for the vehicle involved in the crash, and the suspect driver.

If anyone has information about the crash, the person can call Crime Stoppers.

That number is 888-580-8477.
